Sec Roque to lead ‘DTI goes to the Regions’ Caravan in Bulacan
CITY OF MALOLOS – Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will lead the “DTI Goes to the Regions” Caravan to be held at the grounds of the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) here, tomorrow, April 2, 2025.
This initiative is part of DTI’s commitment to promote economic development and enhance market access nationwide.
The tour will begin at the Tatak Bulakenyo Pasalubong Center and One Town, One Product Hub of the PGB, followed by a program that will take place the Bulwagang Senador Benigno S. Aquino, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall where key figures in Bulacan will present Bulacan’s economic development.
It will provide Secretary Roque the opportunity to interact with local entrepreneurs, view a range of OTOP offerings, and meet with representatives from various OTOP MSMEs such as Bagong Barrio MPC, Likhang Bulacan Entrepreneurs Association, Inc., Jedidiah Food Industry OPC, Lennie V. Food Products, and Rose Garcia Longganisa. These engagements aim to highlight Bulacan’s vibrant MSMS sector and it’s potential for growth.
Atty. Jayric L. Amil, department head of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office, will be discussing Bulacan’s ongoing initiatives to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise’s (MSME) growth and enhance the business environment, while Corina Tengco-Bautista, president of the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), will present the Chamber’s programs, achievements, and address current challenges faced by local businesses.
The event will conclude with a stakeholder dialogue featuring influential representatives from both business and government sectors including Cristina Tuzon, Regional Governor of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and key OTOP MSMEs, which will focus on opportunities for collaboration and potential solutions to the challenges faced by local entrepreneurs.
Bulacan’s selection as the focal point for this inaugural caravan highlights its stance as the emerging economic powerhouse of the country, supported by recent awards like the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners and the 1st Gawad Bayanihan sa Pamumuhunan Award, reflecting Bulacan’s commitment to innovation and support to local entrepreneurs.
Following the visit, Secretary Roque and officials will join a Regional Townhall Meeting in Pampanga to discuss DTI programs and strategies for boosting business competitiveness and inclusive economic development in Central Luzon.
