Christmas season is officially on in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Christmas spirit overflows in Bulacan as the 50-foot giant Christmas tree was lighted and the fireworks illuminated the sky yesterday.
The giant Christmas tree is made of intricate Singkaban bamboo arcs embellished with LED lights and ornaments like flowers, lanterns and buntings.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado reminded everyone who attended the ceremony of the love of God by quoting the verse in the bible, John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’
The governor also reminded the Bulakenyos of God’s commandments, to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with our entire mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
On the other hand, the ceremony’s guest speaker, Engr. Marites K. Manguindra, Regional Secretary of the Department of Tourism-ARMM, said that they are in one with the country in hoping for a peaceful and joyful yuletide season.
“We hope that as you now lighted your Christmas tree to bring peace and joy to everyone, we remember that we are all but one, we are all but creations of God. No matter what our races, our tribe, our religion, truly as Filipino people, we stand by one nation and we’re one with you,” Manguindra said.
Before the lighting, Bulakenyo local artists including Himig ng Bulakenyo, Hiyas ng Bulacan Brass Band, Lara Lavinia and Melbelline Caluag among others added color and joy to the event.
