Bulacan joins the nation in the observance of National Flag Day
CITY OF MALOLOS – In one with the nation, the Province of Bulacan will commemorate the National Flag Day on May 27, 2019 at 8 am in front of the Provincial Capitol Building here.
The said observance is in accordance with Proclamation No. 374 or “Declaring the Twenty-Eight Day of May of each year as Flag Day”.
First District Representative Jose Antonio “Kuya Jonathan” R. Sy-Alvarado will grace the event as the guest of honor and will join Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, and members of the Sangguninang Panlalawigan in the flag raising and wreath laying ceremonies at the statue of Gat Marcelo H. Del Pilar.
Furthermore, Scout Mark Dela Cruz from Dampol 2nd National High School will lead the oath to the national flag to be followed by a special number from the BulSu Entablado after the wreath laying rite.
Other invited guests are Bulacan district representatives, city/municipal mayors and other local officials, employees from the national and provincial agencies, non-government agencies and the academe among others.
The Philippine Flag was conceptualized by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo and sewn by Doña Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herbosa de Natividad in Hong Kong prior to the proclamation of the Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898.
