Barangays of Malis, Guiguinto and Binagbag, Angat, receive Hall of Fame Award at 17th Gawad Galing Barangay

CITY OF MALOLOS – The barangays of Malis in Guiguinto headed by Brgy. Captain Cezar Mendoza and Binagbag in Angat led by Brgy. Captain Angelito De Guzman were awarded Hall of Fame Award during the 17th Gawad Galing Barangay held yesterday at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

The said two barangays were recognized for three consecutive years (2015-2017) in the Natatanging Gawaing Pambarangay category because of their best, most creative and effective implementation of innovative barangay projects.

In the message by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado that was read by Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, he said that although the barangays are the smallest units of government, they are bigger in terms of number that march in harmony towards achieving transparency, accountability and good governance.

“Mabuhay kayo sapagkat patuloy tayong pumapaimbulog sa langit-langitan ng mabuting pamamahala at patuloy na nagtatagumpay sa larangan ng pagmamalasakit sa ating kapuwa,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, the guest speaker, PDDG. Fernando Mendez, Jr. wished the continued success of all the winners.

“Ipagpatuloy ninyo ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong maka-Diyos, makatao at makabayan at pagiging ehemplong natatanging lingkod bayan na dapat tularan, lalo na ng mga kabataan. To rest of our fellow Bulakenyos, let us continue to bring our beloved province of Bulacan to greater heights of peace and economic progress. Let us walk along the footprints of our heroes and continue with what they have started,” Mendez said.

Among the five Natatanging Gawaing Pambarangay awardees include Basuit, San Ildefonso (Pagbubukud-bukod ng Basura at Pagsasaayos ng Kapaligiran ng Barangay); Sapang, San Miguel (Tamang Pangangasiwa ng Basura at Pangangalaga ng Kapaligiran); Malis, Guiguinto (Mabuting Pamamahala); Iba, Hagonoy (Mabuting Pamamahala); and Binagbag, Angat (Mabuting Pamamahala) wherein they all took home P200,000 each and plaque of recognition.

Also, the three trailblazers including Alalay sa Mag-aaral ng Tarcan, Baliwag; the Mabuting Pamamahala of Francisco Homes-Mulawin and Barangay Muzon of City of San Jose Del Monte were recognized and received P50,000 each and plaque of recognition.

Meanwhile, Brgy. Captain Cezar Mendoza of Malis, Guiguinto won as the Natatanging Punong Barangay for his broad knowledge in governance and his strong desire to increase the quality of living of his constituents wherein he brought home P50,000 and plaque of recognition.

Further, Brgy. Councilor Christopher Santiago of San Agustin, Hagonoy bagged the Natatanging Kagawad; Ambrosio Tallara Jr. of Perez, Bulakan as Natatanging Kalihim and Rudy Filoteo of Bancal, City of Meycauayan as Natatanging Ingat-Yaman. Each of them received P20,000 and certificate of recognition.

For the Natatanging Volunteer Workers, Myrna Castro of Malawak, Bustos was hailed as Natatanging LLN; Perla Dela Cruz of Bintog, Plaridel as Natatanging Mother Leader; Roberto Erandio of Muzon, City of San Jose Del Monte as Natatanging Barangay Health Worker; Nerisa Hornedo of San Nicolas, Bulakan as Natatanging Barangay Training And Employment Coordinator and Pablo Marticio of Bagumbayan, Bulakan as Natatanging Barangay Tanod. All of them received P20,000 each and certificate of recognition.

The Volunteer In Case of Emergency-Human Emergency Life Patrol (VICE HELP) from Saluysoy, City of Meycauayan won as Natatanging Volunteer Group and received P50,000 and certificate of recognition.

The said awards program was made possible through the efforts of the Provincial Planning and Development Office.
