Bulacan towns and cities to star in Parada ng Karosa

CITY OF MALOLOS – More or less 15 beautiful floats will highlight their respective towns and cities in the “Parada ng Karosa” on September 10, 2018, 9 am, which will start at the Barasoain Church and ends in front of the Provincial Capitol Building in this city.

As one of the highlights in the month-long celebration of Singkaban Festival with the theme “Pamanang Kalinangan ng Nakaraan, Gabay sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan”, the said event aims to showcase the best of Bulacan by encouraging the participation of floats from the towns and cities in the province.

In order to join the competition, the participating LGUs should enter a float that showcases their products, tourist destinations and arts and culture; should there be candidate(s) of Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban from the participating LGU, said candidate(s) should ride the float and join the parade; the maximum height of the float is 10 ft., width is 8 ft. and length is 20 ft.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the competition is open to all local government units but should there be private companies who are interested to participate, they are welcome to join as guest participants.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eliseo Dela Cruz, head of Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office said the floats will be judged according to craftsmanship – 50%, theme – 25% and over-all impact – 25% for a total of 100%.

Winners will take home trophies plus cash incentives amounting to P100,000 for the first place, P70,000 for the second place and P30,000 for the third place. A P5,000 each consolation prize will also be given.
