Bulacan holds job fair to celebrate women’s month, 15 jobseekers score a job on the spot

CITY OF MALOLOS — In celebration of National Women’s Month with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the Provincial Government of Bulacan, through the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO), hosted a face-to-face job fair last Friday, March 21, at Robinson’s Place Malolos here.

In partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment, a total of 260 eager Bulakenyo jobseekers participated in the event, showcasing their skills and talents to 20 local companies and employers offering nearly 2,000 job vacancies. Out of the 147 female and 113 male applicants, 15 lucky individuals were hired on the spot.

Engr. Egbert R. Robles, the head of PPESO, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, emphasizing that this job fair is not an average temporary gig opportunity. Unlike other hiring agencies that offer short-term jobs during the election season, this event aims to provide long-lasting employment for Bulakenyos.

“‘Yung iba nating mga jobseeker ngayon siguro ay nakakuha ng temporary work because of elections. Marami pong nao-offer na trabaho ‘yung situation natin ngayon, pero panandalian lang po karamihan sa mga ‘yon at ‘yung dito po ay hindi. Kaya congratulations po agad sa inyo,” he said.

Representing  Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, Provincial Administrator Antonia V. Constantino highlighted the significance of the job fair, especially in empowering women throughout the province.

“Ito po ay tulong natin lalo sa mga kababaihan. Dahil po ang diwa po ng buwan ng kababaihan ay pagtulong sa kanila sa lahat ng aspeto ng buhay. Kapag natulungan mo ang isang babae, ay natulungan mo na rin ang kanyang pamilya, ang pamayanan, ang ating bayan, ang bansa,” Constantino said.

This career expo is the second successful job fair organized by PPESO this year, following their triumphant event last February 3 during Ople Day. A total of 82 jobseekers were hired on the spot, proving that opportunities are knocking on the doors of Bulakenyos left and right. ###
