CITY OF MALOLOS – In an aim to have a comprehensive research about the province’s built heritage, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through its Provincial History Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) launched the second year of “Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest” with the theme “Pamana ng Lahi, Yamang aking Ipagmamalaki.”

Interested groups submitted a maximum of 15-minute documentary film about a 50-year old and above built heritage in the province with a notable historical and cultural significance.

The finalists, who were announced through the PHACTO’s facebook page last August 15, are composed of Aguas Potables Ang Tore ng Malolos; Ang Nakalibing na Alaala ng Simboryo sa Quingua; Ang Simbahang Naglalakbay; Barasoain (Santuwaryo ng Kasarinlan); Estacion (Estasyon ng Tren ng Meycauayan; Estasyong Itinangi(s); King Wa Ang Naglalahong Kaharian ng Quingua; and Nagtatago ng Yaman at Kasaysayan Ako ang Tahanan ni Dr. Luis Uitangcoy Santos.

In line with this, there will be a Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest 2018 Premiere Showing and Presentation of Finalists on September 6, 2018, 1 pm at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium; and the Awarding Ceremonies will be held on September 13, 2018, 2 pm at the Cinema 1 of SM City Baliwag to be graced by Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson Mary Liza Diño-Seguerra wherein the Best Documentary Film, Best Research, Best Cinematography, Special Jury Prize and Audience Choice Award will be conferred.

Meanwhile, the legacy of the first-ever Sineliksik Docufest last year will be honored as the PGB holds a Sineliksik Bulacan “Saliksik at Salaysay ng Kasaysayan ng Bayan Ko!” Book Launching and Conference on September 11, 2018, 9 am at the Balagtas Hall of the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado believed that old structures such as houses, churches, buildings and the likes served as witnesses to the province’s rich history.

“Sa taong ito ay ating tatalakayin ang mga dakilang istraktura sa ating lalawigan na hindi nabibigyan ng karampatang pansin ang halaga sa kasaysayan. Lubos ang ating paniniwala na sa pamamagitan ng mga ganitong gawain ay maitataas natin ang antas ng kamlayan ng mga Bulakenyo sa mga pamanang kultural at ang kahalagahan nito sa kasalukuyang panahon,” the governor said.
The Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest is made possible through the joint efforts of the PGB, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and is part of the month-long celebration of Singkaban Festival, which is anchored on the theme “Pamanang Kalinangan ng Nakaraan, Gabay sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan.”
