President Duterte leads groundbreaking rites of Scout Ranger Ville in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte yesterday led the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of 1,000 housing units for the First Scout Ranger Regiment called “Scout Ranger Ville”, a project of the National Housing Authority under the Armed Forces of the Philippines/Philippine National Police Housing Program.

The President was assisted by Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, San Miguel Mayor Marivee Mendez-Coronel, Barangay Captains Eddie Yuson of Brgy. Calumpang and Ric Esguerra of Brgy. Tartaro in San Miguel, Sec. Delfin Lorenzana of the Department of National Defense, Chairman of Congress Housing and Urban Development Committee and Negros Occidental District 3 Rep. Alfredo Benitez, Chairman of Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council Eduardo Del Rosario, National Housing Authority General Manager Marcelino Escalada, Jr., General Eduardo Año and Major General Rolando Bautista.

Escalada said a P200 million subsidy funds from the Department of Budget and Management has been allocated for the construction of 1,000 units in the 50-hectare portion of scout ranger housing site in San Miguel, Bulacan under “Biyayang Pagbabago”, the new AFP/PNP Housing Program of Duterte administration.

Governor Alvarado said that it is with pride and honor that the “Scout Rangers Ville”, the home of the elite scout rangers, will be erected in San Miguel, where one of the three Republics – the Republic of Biak-na-Bato, was born during the twilight years of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish colonial rule.

In his speech, President Duterte reminded everyone to be prepared and to be always on guard against terrorism because the terrorists might simultaneously attack other areas in the country.

The chief executive also paid homage to the soldiers and policemen for their invaluable contribution and sacrifices to protect and secure the safety of the Filipinos.

The said project of President Duterte is a continuing effort to recognize the services of AFP/PNP personnel and the fulfillment to his promise of better, bigger and more comfortable houses for them.
