Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, reaps praises from Bulakenyos
CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulakenyos gave their loudest applauses to the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra for their outstanding and amazing performance during the “Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra In Concert” held recently at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
The youths yelled their hearts out and sang while the 40 musicians under the baton of conductor Herminigildo Ranera played the songs of Beyonce and melodies included in the 2016 Playlist.
Other songs that were played during the concert include Overture to William Tell, Hungarian Dances Numbers 1, 3 & 5, Dalagang Pilipina, Pepe at Pilar, Bugler’s Holiday and Aegis Overture while Bulakenyo singer Trixie Dayrit sang the Ano Kaya ang Kapalaran of Francisco Santiago and Mutya ng Pasig of Nicanor Abelardo with the music accompaniment of PPO.
“Bitin po, pero na-entertain ako ng labis. Ang husay nila at talagang nakakabilib. Nakaka-enjoy lalo na at iba’t ibang music from different generations ang kanilang tinugtog at lalo pa ‘yung modern music kung saan nakaka-relate ang mga kabataan. Naitataas ang kamulatan ng mga Bulakenyo sa cultural and artistic appreciation,” said Ann Valentin, government employee from Bocaue, Bulacan.
Meanwhile, in his message, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that Bulacan can be considered as the primary musical stage not only in the national level but also in the global arena.
He said Bulacan gave birth to numerous children of music that were recognized because of their exceptional talents.
“Nariyan sina Antonino Buenaventura, Ernani Cuenco, Levi Celerio, Nicanor Abelardo at Francisco Santiago na mga hinirang na Pambansang Alagad ng Sining at hindi maitatangging lumikha ng puwang sa mundo ng musika,” Alvarado said.
Alvarado added that in many instances, music is the only medium that can be used to express real feelings and sentiments especially in times where no words can describe what a person is feeling. It is also the spirit that binds individuals to have a peaceful and unbiased life under the ideals of brotherhood.
Meanwhile, also present during the event were Mr. Arsenio Lizaso, president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the Bulacan Tourism Council headed by its President Jorge Allan Tengco.
The said free concert is made possible through the efforts of the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office and CCP as part of the month-long celebration of Singkaban Festival 2018 with the theme, “ Pamanang Kalinangan ng Nakaraan, Gabay sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan”.
