CITY OF MALOLOS – A rare type green iguana was found and captured at the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office’s (BENRO) Bustos Checkpoint last February 25, 2023, Saturday afternoon.

The green iguana is approximately 45 inches long from snout to tail and has rare features compared to other iguana types.

BENRO Section Chief Beam Joseph Arada believes that the captured green iguana is not a part of the local biodiversity.

“Sa tingin ko ay hindi part ng local biodiversity ‘yung nahuling iguana, kakaiba kasi ‘yung itsura niya, hindi common. Sa palagay ko ay alaga ito na nakatakas,” he said.

The rare green iguana was then turned over to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office in Guiguinto, Bulacan at 2 pm today.                                                                                                                 ###
