Fernando vows to seek justice for the untimely death of PCSJMO head

CITY OF MALOLOS -Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando promised to exhort all efforts to serve justice to the unfortunate demise of PCol. Fernando Villanueva, head of the Provincial Civil Security and Jail Management Office (PCSJMO) at the Provincial Government of Bulacan.

“Labis po ang pagkagulat at lungkot ng inyong lingkod ng makarating sa akin ang balita tungkol sa pagpaslang sa isa sa mga maaasahan kong kapwa lingkod bayan sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan. Sa tulong ng ating provincial director, layunin natin ang mabilis na imbestigasyon upang mapanagot sa batas kung sino ang nasa likod ng krimeng ito. Ipinaabot ko ang taos-pusong pakikiramay sa nga naulila ni Col. Villanueva na naglingkod sa ating lalawigan sa mahabang panahon,” Fernando said.

PCol. Villanueva, 61 years old, and his 44-year old driver, Pedro Flores, were on board a government issued Mitsubishi Strada from the Provincial Capitol Building are headed to City of San Fernando, Pampanga where the victim lives.

According to the driver, an unidentified riding in tandem fired several shots at the victim while traversing Bagbag Bridge, Brgy. Iba O Este, Calumpit, Bulacan at around 6 pm yesterday.

He added that the suspects fired shots at the victim and immediately alighted to the vehicle due to the traffic congestion but were chased and shot successively wherein the suspects managed to escape toward Calumpit direction.

In a spot report from Police Lieutenant Ramil R. Santos of Calumpit Municipal Police Station, the Bulacan SOCO Team was requested and processed the crime scene wherein they recovered four pieces of fired cartridge cases of a caliber 40 and one FCC of a caliber 38 (Super).

The cadaver of the PCol. Villanueva was brought to Saint Louie Funeral Homes at the City of San Fernando for autopsy examination and further investigation.

He was a retired police colonel, former provincial director of Bulacan Police Provincial Office, and jail warden of Bulacan Provincial Jail.###
