Bulakenyos to benefit from free medical mission

CITY OF MALOLOS – Doctors from the United States of America representing the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Missouri will conduct free medical services for the benefit of Bulakenyos on January 25-28, 2016 at the Provincial Capitol Gym in this city.

The Provincial Government of Bulacan and the PMA Medical Mission Foundation joined hands to organize this project that will bring around 40 doctors to lend medical services including surgery, urology, plastic surgery, OB-GYN, IM cardiology, pathology, radiology, and pediatrics to as many indigent Bulakenyos as possible.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado expressed his gratitude to the people who keep on lending their time and effort to help the needy.

“Sabi nga sa Bibliya, ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive’. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat at patuloy na dumarami ang nagnanais na magbahagi ng kanilang husay para sa ikabubuti ng mas maraming nangangailangan, sana ay dumami pa ang mga tulad nila at ‘wag silang magsawa na tumulong at magbigay,” Alvarado said.

For four days, more than 2,000 Bulakenyos are expected to flock to the Capitol Gym and Bulacan Medical Center in order to avail the services of the free medical mission.

Aside from these, free medicines, medical supplies and surgical equipment will be turned over to BMC.

Prior to the medical mission, Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando will welcome the volunteer doctors through a ceremony on January 24, 2016 at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center where Dr. Necita Roa, president of PMA Medical Mission Foundation is expected to give her response.

The PMA Medical Mission Foundation is on its fourth year in conducting medical mission in Bulacan which is also in line with the program of the Department of Health for foreign medical missionaries to adopt a local hospital.
