Bulakenya wins as Miss Universe Philippines 2024

CITY OF MALOLOS– Bulacan proved that it is, indeed, the “Tahanan ng Magagandang Dilag” as Chelsea Anne Manalo, a Bulakenya from the City of Meycauayan, bested 52 candidates and took home the much coveted crown of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last night.

Aside from the title, the 24-year-old beauty won the Miss Jojo Bragais special award.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines thanked her family, handler, make-up artists, and all the people who supported her from the start of her journey including Governor Daniel R. Fernando.

During the Top 5 question-and-answer portion of the pageant, Manalo was asked how she would use her qualities as being beautiful and confident to empower others.

“As a woman of color, I’ve always faced challenges in my life. I was told that beauty has standards, but for me, I have listened and always believed in my mother. To always believe in yourself. Uphold the vows that you have in yourself. Because of these, I am already influencing a lot of women who are facing me right now. As a transformational woman, I have 52 other delegates here with me who helped me become the woman I am,” she answered.

Outpour of greetings from the proud Bulakenyos also flooded the social media for the Bulakenya queen.

She will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe stage in Mexico and will try to clinch the 5th title for the country. ###
