Bulacan starts pediatric vaccination

CITY OF MALOLOS- The Province of Bulacan has started the vaccination of more or less 500,000 pediatric population ages 12 to 17 years old at the Bulacan Provincial COVID-19 Vaccination Site, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city earlier today.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando personally visited the vaccination site to oversee the start of the inoculation of Pedia A3 or children with comorbidities and the Rest of the Pediatric Population (ROPP).

During his speech in the distribution of Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Bulakenyo activity held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium today, the governor encouraged the youth to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Sa ngayon, mga kabataan na 12 to 17 years old ang ating binabakunahan. Inuuna lamang po ang mga may comorbidity. Kaya nakikiusap po kami sa inyo, magpabakuna po kayo dahil depensa po natin ito para sa ating kalusugan,” Fernando said.

He also highlighted the importance of being vaccinated especially now that minors can go out of their homes and play contact sports as quarantine restrictions ease because Bulacan is now under Alert Level 2.

Fernando mentioned that he requested to postpone the start of limited face-to-face classes in the province until the youth are vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Nanindigan po ako na hindi muna ako papayag na magkaroon kayo ng face-to-face dahil kailangan na mabakunahan muna lahat ng ating mga kabataan hanggang dumating sila sa second dose. Maganda po ang laban natin sa COVID kaya pinayagan tayo sa mas maluwag na alert level system ngunit pangunahin pa rin ang ating pag-iingat,” the governor said.
