Bulacan provincial officials light the 50 feet high Singkaban Christmas tree
CITY OF MALOLOS – Paskong Bulakenyo in the province of Bulacan has officially started as the 50-foot Singkaban Christmas tree adorned with 1,403 colorful plastic balls was lighted last night in front of the Provincial Capitol Building in this city.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the lighting of the giant Christmas tree together with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan board members which was witnessed by the employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan, students, non-government organizations and many more.
In his message, Alvarado shared the purpose of the yearly Christmas tree lighting activity.
“Taun-taon ay ating sinasariwa ang lighting ng Christmas Tree para sa pagmamahal sa lalawigan ng ating Panginoon. Ang tala ay gumagabay sa landasin ng mga Bulakenyo kung saan Kanyang ipinapakita sa buong taon ang spirit ng pagmamahalan, pagbibigayan at pagtatawaran, bukod pa ang halos lahat ng biyaya at nasyonal na pagkilala na ipinagkakaloob sa lalawigan,” the governor said.
He added that even though the province faces challenges, the Lord will always guide the people He is delighted with.
Prior the lighting activity, Bulakenyo artists showcased their talents in music and dance including Hiyas ng Bulacan Brass Band, Lara Lavinia, Melbelline Caluag, BulSU Lahing Kayumangi , BulSU Saring Himig, Barasoain Camerata Philippines (BCP), Jhon Harry Rodriguez and Rodnick Santos.
