Bulacan Medical Center’s Luntiang Silong bags awards at the QUILTS Awards 2022
CITY OF MALOLOS – Another recognition was added to the roster of awards received by the Provincial Government of Bulacan as the Bulacan Medical Center’s Luntiang Silong facility bagged two major awards as a champion in both Linkage to Care and Differentiated Service Delivery and Case Management categories at the recently concluded Quality Uptake and Improvements in Lifesaving Treatment Services (QUILTS) Awards 2022 held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño, Pasig City Hall Complex, Caruncho Ave, Pasig, Metro Manila last May 31, 2022.
The facility serves as the province’s response in providing proper care for Bulakenyos who tested positive for HIV and aims to educate people not only to develop and maintain safer behaviors, but also to provide a safe space to reduce discrimination towards people living with HIV (PLHIV).
According to Ronchie D. Santos, HIV Unit Nurse Supervisor, the facility received trophies and certificates of recognition for its outstanding accomplishments in the provision of care and treatment services to people living with HIV especially during the early years of the pandemic.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that HIV should not be taken lightly and encouraged Bulakenyos to be tested to further prevent the virus from spreading.
Moreover, the Luntiang Silong was also a finalist for Top RHIVDA Facility for being the fastest to construct such facility and the Meycauayan City Primary HIV Care Clinic which also bagged the Adherence Award.
QUILTS Awards is an award giving body which recognizes partner facilities and organizations that provide treatment services to PLHIVs.
