Bulacan lights Barasoain Church inspired Christmas tree

SPARKLING LIGHTS. Hundreds of Bulakenyos look up in the sky as they watch the fireworks display sparkle in the night while overlooking the newly lit Christmas Tree and other holiday decors that shine brightly during the Pag-iilaw ng Krismas Tree at Parada ng Bulacan Christmas Carrosa held in front of the Provincial Capitol Building, City of Malolos, Bulacan, Friday night.

CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the countdown towards the lighting of the 5.5 meter high Barasoain Church inspired Christmas Tree in front of the Provincial Capitol Building in this city last night.

The governor greeted hundreds of Bulakenyos who witnessed the lighting as well as the Christmas parade.

“Sa gitna ng ating pagsasaya, isapuso nawa natin ang tunay na mensahe ng Kapaskuhan, that through a life of humilty and sacrifice, the son of God ministered to the poor, embraced the outcast and gave healing to the sick. Sa ating buhay maibahagi nawa natin ang pagmamahal ng Diyos sa ating kapwa, lagi tayong magdamayan. ‘Wag tayong mawawalan ng pag-asa na sasapit sa ating panahon ang magandang kinabukasan sa ating pamilya,” Fernando said.

Kristen Leigh Iso-Rosario, designer of the newly lit Christmas decor, said that the goal in doing such attraction is to make people happy regardless of the size.

“Yearly giant Christmas tree ang ginagawa natin. Ngayon we made it different by recreating Barasoain Church using singkaban details,” Rosario said.

She added that the materials used were from a previous expo competition in Clark last month wherein the province won first place.

“Naglaban-laban ‘yung Region 3, bawat province nagdisplay ng best products, nagkaroon ng pinakamagandang booth competition at nag-first ang Bulacan, we won. So in a way, parang trophy na rin ito ng lalawigan, nirecycle natin, dinala natin dito nilagyan lang ng Christmas tree,” the designer said.

Meanwhile, Fiona Alvarado from Hagonoy said that she was still in awe after the fireworks display that concluded the event.

“Na-excite ako, feeling ko Pasko na agad. Ang ganda, hindi basta Christmas tree lang ‘yung dadayuhin mo kundi pati ‘yung iba pang mga pailaw at design, nakakaganda sa selfie,” Alvarado shared.

Also, Eron dela Cruz from Obando shared the same feelings with other expectators who were cheered up by the ambiance.

“Maganda, nakaka-engganyo kasi pauwi na ko talaga pero nakita ko ‘to. Naisip ko dumaan muna kasi after work nakakarelax ‘yung pakiramdam, nakakagaan ng loob,” dela Cruz said.

The Christmas theme set up will be enjoyed until January 2020.
