Bulacan gov leads medical mission in Batangas

Talaibon, Ibaan, Batangas and conducted a medical mission dubbed as “Tulong ng Bulacan Para sa Nasalanta ng Bulkang Taal Medical Mission” yesterday. In collaboration with the Damayang Filipino Movement Inc., almost 1,000 Batangueños who are evacuees from Brgy. Alas-as and Brgy. Pulang Bato, San Nicolas, Batangas benefited from the medical mission after almost two months since the eruption of Taal Volcano. According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rowena J. Tiongson, a total of 1,000 bags of groceries and 110 boxes of medicines and vitamins for adults and children were distributed to the individuals who flocked to the medical mission. Fernando said that the medical mission is the province’s way of repaying the kind-hearted Batangueños who did not hesitate in sending help to Bulacan when it was struck by a calamity. “Noong nakaranas po ng matinding kalamidad ang Bulacan, nariyan po ang Batangas para magbigay ng tulong at suporta sa amin. Bilang pagtanaw ng utang na loob, sila naman po ang ating tulungan sa ikalawang pagkakataon at hindi kami magsasawang tulungan kayo,” Fernando said. Meanwhile, Batangas Provincial Health Officer II Rosvilinda Ozaeta said that the groceries and medicines from the PGB are well appreciated especially that most of the people at their community are still unemployed due to the volcanic eruption. “Ito pong mga handog ninyo ang sinasabi nating mga basic needs ng mga kasamahan ko dito, lalo na p’t karamihan ay mga wala pang trabaho kaya lubos po kaming nagpapasalamat para dito” Ozaeta said. Also, Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas likened the unity of Filipinos to the sunrays displayed on the national flag. “Ang simbolo ng mga sinag sa watawat, naroroon ang Batangas at Bulacan; at ngayong araw ipinakikita natin na tayo ay magkasama sa pagbibigay ng liwanag at init ng pagmamahal sa ating mga kababayan. Kaya’t kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa panahon na inyong inilaan para sa amin,” Hermilando said. Further, Rosila Dawit, 64 years old, an evacuee from Brgy. Alas-as, San Nicolas, also expressed her gratitude to the PGB. “Sobra po kaming natutuwa dahil dinayo niyo po kami dito kahit malayo. Karamihan po dito ay may mga ubo’t sipon. Dahil po sa inyo, matutugunan po yung mga pangangailangan namin lalo sa mga gamot at vitamins,” Dawit said. Aside from the medical mission, the Damayang Filipino Movement Inc., also offered free haircut services.###
