CITY OF MALOLOS – To assure that the rules and regulations stated in Republic Act No. 7183 are being observed by manufacturers, dealers and retailers of pyrotechnics and firecrackers, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando together with the Pyrotechnic Regulatory Board (PRB), inspected some fireworks manufacturing plant and stalls in Bocaue, Bulacan earlier today.

Alvarado and Fernando in participation with the PRB composed of representatives from Philippine Pyrotechnics Manufacturers and Dealers Association Inc. (PPMDAI), Philippine Fireworks Association, Department of Trade and Industry and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine National Police, Department of Labor and Employment, Bureau of Fire Protection, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and other industry stakeholders, checked Maribel Sta. Ana Fireworks in Brgy. Duhat and R. T. Sayo Fireworks in Brgy. Turo, both in Bocaue.

“Hanggang sa ngayon, satisfied kami dahil ang Bulacan pa rin ang nangunguna sa pyrotechnics at sa maraming bagay at maraming field of endeavors,” the governor said.

Although Bulacan officials regularly inspect fireworks and firecrackers manufacturers and dealers, he still called to the public to be vigilant and to report illegal dealers that would definitely affect the local industry.

“Umiiwas tayo hindi sa paputok kung hindi sa sakuna. Pinipilit nating panatilihin ang kalidad ng ating mga produkto nang sa gayon ay hindi mawalan ng hanapbuhay ang higit 200 pamilya na umaasa dito. Gayundin kailangan natin matutunan ang responsible handling ng mga paputok upang makaiwas tayo sa disgrasya,” Alvarado said.

He added that there are 29 licensed manufacturers and 95 licensed dealers in the Bulacan.

Meanwhile, Jovenson Ong of the Philippine Fireworks Association, shared that Dragon Fireworks is the first in Southeast Asia to win the prestigious Cannes International Fireworks Competition.
