Provincial Government of Bulacan

“As inheritors, it is our duty to make sure that we follow the constitution” – Cong Domingo

CITY OF MALOLOS– “As inheritors, it is our duty to make sure that we follow the constitution. Let us use every moment of our independence to do right and good for our fellowmen.”

This was the message of Bulacan First District Representative Danilo A. Domingo during his speech on the commemoration of the 124th Anniversary of the First Philippine Republic of 1899 held at the grounds of Barasoain Church in this city earlier today.

He stated that the institutionalization of the First Philippine Republic has exposed to the whole world the ability of the Filipinos to have a free and republic government that will draw and govern its own fate as a nation.

The Assistant Majority Leader of the Committee on Rules of the 19th Congress of the Philippines expressed his desire for the City of Malolos to have its own legislative district; and his support for the Federalism type of government.

For his part, Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that as elected official of the government, it is their duty to serve diligently and faithfully in return for the trust bestowed by their constituents.

Prior to this, Domingo and Fernando led hundreds of Bulakenyos who attended the event in a flag raising ceremony and wreath laying activity at the monument of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, the first Philippine president.
