Bulacan gov, provincial treasurer remind tax payers to pay on time

CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Provincial Treasurer Belinda B. Bartolome remind the public to settle their tax obligations on or before the set deadline.

As part of the tax campaign in the province, tax payers are encouraged to pay early to avoid delayed payment fees or penalty and interest.

“To avoid long queue and inconvenience, tax payers should be wary of the deadlines when paying their taxes. If they settle their obligations ahead of time, they will be able to avail of the 10 to 15% discount and avoid the 2% surcharge per month for late payment,” Alvarado said.

According to the provincial treasurer, all real property tax shall become due on the following schedules: March 31, 2016 for the first quarter (January to March); June 30, 2016 for the second quarter (April to June); September 30, 2016 for the third quarter (July-September); and December 31, 2016 for the fourth quarter (October-December).

In addition to this, professional tax must be paid on or before January 31 of each year while the amusement tax is within 15 days of every month.

The franchise tax or tax on business of printing has to be paid within the first 20 days of January of every year or of each succeeding quarter.

Meanwhile, delivery van/truck must be paid within the first 20 days of January of every year.

Under the Local Government Code of the Philippines of Republic Act No. 7260 (RA No. 7160), a province or city or municipality within Metropolitan Area may levy a Real Property Tax (RPT) in the Philippines on such real property as land, building, machinery and other improvement.
