558 Bulakenyos receive burial and calamity assistance

CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 558 Bulakenyos received burial and calamity assistance from the Provincial Government of Bulacan during the Pamamahagi ng “Tulong Pinansyal Para sa Housing Materials ng mga Nasalanta ng Bagyong Ulysses” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymanisum here yesterday.

Two hundred fifty-eight Bulakenyos were given burial assistance and 300 people received calamity assistance.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) said that the P3,000 calamity assistance were donated by Bagong Henerasyon Partylist headed by House Representative Congresswoman Bernadette Herrera-Dy which will be used for housing materials due to the damage brought by typhoon Ulysses .

Meanwhile, the 258 individuals who were given burial assistance worth P2,000 were included in the 550 beneficiaries of the province’s trust fund from Regional DSWD.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Rowena J. Tiongson, head of PSWDO, also led the distribution of medical and assistive devices that includes nebulizer, blood pressure apparatus, glucometer, wheelchair among others to 50 beneficiaries.

Fernando expressed his appreciation to all those people who have helped and who are continuously giving donation for the Bulakenyos in need.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga kababayan natin na may busilak na puso na hindi nagsasawang tumulong sa ating mga kalalawigan. Tunay po na kapag mas marami ang nagtutulungan, mas marami pong buhay ang ating mababago at mabibigyan ng pagkakataong makapagsimulang muli,” the governor said.
