171 Bulakenyo youths participate in the Summer Sports Clinic 2022
CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 171 Bulakenyo youths participated in the Summer Sports Clinic 2022 Mass Graduation held recently at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
The Provincial Youth, Sports, and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO) held the said sports clinic at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Brgy. Santa Isabel from May 16 to June 10, 2022.
PYSPESO opened four sports activities including lawn tennis, badminton, basketball and swimming wherein the total enrollees were 12, 18, 16 and 125 respectively.
Participants in lawn tennis, basketball and swimming paid a registration fee of P1,500 each while there’s no registration fee for badminton.
All participants received medals, certificates of completion and t-shirts while the coaches received certificates of appreciation.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando emphasized the importance of conducting sports activities that will not only benefit the physical condition of individuals but also their mental health.
“Mahigit dalawang taon po tayong hindi nakalabas at nalimitahan kahit ang paglalaro ng iba’t ibang sports dahil sa pandemya at ngayon po ay nagkaroon tayo ng pagkakataon na muling magsagawa ng mga ganitong programa. Hangad po ng ating Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na maging aktibo ang ating mga kabataan sa palakasan upang makatulong hindi lamang sa pagkakaroon ng malusog na pangangatawan ngunit maging ng malusog na kaisipan,” Fernando said.
Coinciding the event, Fernando also recognized and gave P5,000 cash incentives and plaques to the winners of the 31st Southeast Asian Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam held recently including Bronze Medalist Jenaila Rose Prulla of the City of San Jose Del Monte for Women’s Tennis; Silver and Bronze Medalist Christian Joseph Jasmin of Bustos for Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls and Men’s Lightweight Quadruple Sculls (Rowing); in Top 10 Mark Lowel Valderama of Santa Maria for Cycling Event; Bronze Medalist Jorey Napoles of Calumpit for 3×3 Men’s Basketball; Bronze Medalist Jaron Requinton of Santa Maria for Men’s Beach Volleyball Team Event; Gold Medalist Afril Bernardino of Calumpit for Women’s 5×5 Basketball; 6th placer Richard Salaño of Marilao for Track and Field Marathon; Silver Medalist Jhonny Morte of Bustos for Men’s 65 kg Freestyle Wrestling; Gold Medalist Christine Ray Natividad of Pandi for League of Legends, Wild Rift Women’s Team; Bronze Medalist Mark Mabazza of City of San Jose Del Monte for Assistant Coach and Physiotherapist of 3×3 Men’s Basketball and Gold Medalist Rogen Ladon of Marilao for Men’s Boxing Team. ###
