Serpent Eagle rescued in Guiguinto, Bulacan
CITY OF MALOLOS – Marking a significant effort in wildlife conservation in the province, the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office successfully turned over a rescued brown Serpent Eagle to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in Guiguinto earlier today.
The majestic bird, measuring 1 foot tall, with an impressive wingspan of 4 feet and weighing approximately 2 ½ kilos was found in need of assistance by Rufino E. Lañada from Sta. Rita, Guiguinto last February 9, 2024 and immediately handed it over to the Provincial Engineer’s Office in Tabang, Guiguinto.
It was then subsequently relocated to the Official Residence of the Provincial Government of Bulacan where it was cared for over the course of nine days.
The Serpent Eagle will immediately be turned over tomorrow, February 20, to the Manila Wildlife Rescue Center in Quezon City, Manila. ###
