PSA launches Philsys Institutional Registration in Bulacan for government employees

CITY OF MALOLOS – To make the registration for the national identification system more accessible for the government employees, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) launched the Philsys Institutional Registration at The Provincial Government of Bulacan during the “#DutyFirst Kapitolyo, Rehistrado” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here yesterday.

Philippine Identification System or Philsys is the government’s central identification platform that aims to establish a single national identification system for all the Filipino citizens and resident aliens in the country.

Among the first group who registered during the launching were Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado along with the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and PGB department heads while the rest of the employees and staff will be scheduled on June 8-29, 2021.

According to Marcelino O. De Mesa, Supervising Statistical Analyst at PSA Bulacan, the national ID can be used as a proof of identification for all transactions, whether in a government agency or private institution and can also be used outside the country.

He added that PSA is coordinating with the local government units to assist the registration of their respective constituents to Philsys which includes pre-registration and registration processes.

Meanwhile, Fernando expressed his support to the objectives of the Philsys and said that having a national ID is a symbol of our identity as Filipinos.

The Philippine Identification System Act, otherwise known as the Republic Act No. 11055 was signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in August 2018. ###
