CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan has certified its commitment to the Commission on Audit (COA) as an enabling partner of the institution in upholding transparency in government after granting its land utilization request for the construction of its provincial satellite auditing office.

This was confirmed after the signing of the deed of usufruct agreement between PGB headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and COA headed by Chairman Atty. Michael Aguinaldo held at the Hapag Restaurant, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, this afternoon.

Alvarado recognized the importance of the request and delineated the use of 4,000 square meters portion of the Bulacan Polytechnic College in this city since it was studied as the most strategic and convenient area for the construction of the said satellite auditing office.

“The Provincial Government has realized the critical importance of the aforesaid request kaya’t napagpasyahan ng inyong lingkod kasama ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan na ihandog ang kabuuang 4,000 square meters upang ang lumang istrukturang warehouse ay magamit na rin ng COA sa kapakinabangan at interes ng paglilingkod sa bayan,” the governor said.

The provincial satellite auditing office will be constructed in Brgy. Bulihan, Malolos and is expected to provide better and direct services to its audited agencies.

Meanwhile, COA Chairman Atty. Aguinaldo expressed his gratitude to the PGB and encouraged the institution’s auditors to enhance the performance of their duties.

“The audited agencies need guidance and we should be able to engage with them. We want to be partners in progress and we are grateful to the local government units that expressed support for the construction of our satellite offices,” Atty. Aguinaldo said.

The grant of COA’s land utilization request is in accordance with the Provincial Resolution No. 124-T’16 that provides additional 4,000 square meters for the construction of the satellite auditing office in Bulacan.
