PGB launches Lalawigan Ko, Kikilalanin Ko program

CITY OF MALOLOS – It is more fun in Bulacan.

Bulakenyos and tourists from nearby regions will now have the chance to explore Bulacan in a more convenient way as the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office and Provincial Public Affairs Office will conduct the soft launching of Lalawigan Ko, Kikilalanin Ko Program, a prearranged tour to various must-see destinations in the province.

The pilot tour will be held tomorrow, November 20 at the town of Norzagaray together with the members of the Association of Tourism Officers of Bulacan (ATOB), Bulacan Association of Travel Agencies (BATA), Larawang Bulakenyo Competition contestants and some Bulacan-based media practitioners with local and national outlets.

Governor Wilhemino M. Sy-Alvarado said that there are a lot of tourist spots to be visited and a colorful history to be discovered in Bulacan.

“Ipinagmamalaki natin na ito ang tahanan ng tatlong republika at dito naganap ang malaking bahagi ng kasaysayan but we are emphasizing that Bulacan is not only part of history, but is continuing to make history. Maraming pwedeng makita, pasyalan at ipagmalaki sa Bulacan na hindi napapansin ng iba,” Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz, PHACTO head, said that this is just the beginning of a series of tours that the province will conduct to fully promote the best of Bulacan’s tourist destinations, products and rich history.

“Nauuso ang mga travel agency ngayon kaya sila ang naisip nating gawing partner para maisama nila sa list ng mga pwedeng puntahan ng mga turista ang Bulacan, hindi lang mga tourist destination, pati na rin mga produktong sariling atin at mayamang kasaysayan,” dela Cruz said.

He also said that in the tours to come, they will issue a passport to every tourist which will serve as their passes to go to Bulacan. Every completed destination, the tourists’ passports will get a stamp as proof of their travel as well as freebies.

Among the destinations to be visited in the pilot tour are Angat Dam, Ipo Dam, Bitbit River and Pinagrealan Cave.

Maricel Santos-Cruz, PPAO chief, said that media plays a big role in information dissemination and having them in the tour will help the PGB in promoting the best of Bulacan has to offer.

“Those who will join the tour can expect a great deal of adventure and I advise them to bring extra clothes for they might get wet but it will surely be fun,” Cruz added.
