CITY OF MALOLOS – First District Representative Jose Antonio ‘Kuya Jonathan’ R. Sy-Alvarado stressed out the importance of looking back on history in order to honor the beauty of the present as he graced the celebration of the National Flag Day held in front of the Capitol building in this city earlier this morning.

Also, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said in his speech, which was read by Provincial Administrator Eugenio Payongayong, that the flag is the most famous and sacred symbol of the country’s independence that our ancestors have fought for.

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Daniel R. Fernando highlighted the role of Bulakenyos in the past revolution that resulted to the inclusion of Bulacan as one of the sun’s rays in the national flag.

Prior the program, Alvarado and Fernando were joined by other local officials in the flag raising ceremony and wreath laying activity before the bust of Gat Marcelo H. Del Pilar.

Executive Order No. 179, s. 1994 orders the prominent display of the national flag in all buildings, establishments, and homes from May 28 to June 12 of every year.
