CITY OF MALOLOS- Governor Daniel R. Fernando donated the 19th century model of John Sherwin Letter Press used by the Bulacan Military Area (BMA) headed by Gen. Alejo S. Santos to print propaganda war materials to the collection of the Hiyas ng Bulacan Museum.

The printing machine together with some of the documents printed through it, glass case and other things worth P200,000 given by the governor and previously owned by the Crisostomo Family of Malolos is now part of the permanent exhibit in the Hiyas ng Bulacan Museum. It can also be viewed on the Museum Memorabilia Exhibit in Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center until September 15, 2021 as part of the weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival 2021 with the theme
“Paglingon. Paghilom. Pagbangon.”

According to Fernando, Lt. Mabini, Rey Centeno, Saturnino Bauto and Sixto Sablay were the ones assigned to lead the printing of newspapers and other reading materials distributed to fighting soldiers to boost their morale.

Other exhibits available for viewing on the Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center are the SINEliksik Bulacan Poster Bayaning Bulakenyo Series, Bulacan Festival Costume Expo, Singkaban ng Bayan Miniature Arc Making Exhibit, and Singkaban Bulakenyo Art Exhibit. ###
