Fernando calls on Bulakenyos to avail COVID booster shots

CITY OF MALOLOS– Governor Daniel R. Fernando calls on the Bulakenyos to get vaccinated with additional COVID-19 shots as the province faces another upward trend in the number of positive cases.

“Bagaman hindi pa gaanong kalala ang pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID dito sa ating lalawigan kumpara sa mga karatig nating lugar, nananawagan po ako sa ating mga kalalawigan na huwag nang hintayin ang paglala ng sitwasyon ng COVID bago tayo umaksyon. Bukas po ang ating mga vaccination sites upang makapagpa-booster tayo, at bigyan ang ating mga sarili ng karagdagang proteksyon laban sa COVID-19,” the governor said.

In a report by Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Hjordis Marushka B. Celis yesterday during the online Monday Flag Ceremony, she stated that the PGB has administered a total of 5,756,301 COVID vaccines, and only 647,334 of those are booster shots.

She also mentioned that 2,490,490 or 82.63% of the eligible population are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Celis also shared that the Bulacan Medical Center is currently implementing the Appointment System to avoid the influx of patients in the Out-Patient Department and to prevent them from exposing each other to the possibility of spreading the virus.

Bulakenyos may call the BMC Hotline at (044) 482-4207 or register on the OPD Online Appointment at www.facebook.com/BMCOPDKonsulta to schedule their visit to the hospital from Mondays to Saturdays.

Celis added that emergencies will be accommodated at the hospital 24 hours a day.

As of July 18, Bulacan has 660 total number of active cases. In total, the province had 110,617 verified COVID-19 cases, 108,225 recoveries, and 1,732 deaths. ###
