DYCI Robotics Team wins Natatanging Gintong Kabataan award

CITY OF MALOLOS- The robotics team of Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc. who raised the flag of the country in different international robotics competition, has been recognized with the highest distinction as Natatanging Gintong Kabataan during the Gintong Kabataan Awards 2019 held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city today.

Some of the international competitions championed by the DYCI Robotics Team were the World Robot Olympiad Friendship Invitational (WROFIT) 2019 held in Aarhus, Denmark and the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Lego League World Championship held in Houston, Texas, USA.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando saluted all the awardees for not letting their age become a barrier for them to contribute to the collective goals of the society.

“Ang mga kabataang Bulakenyo ay may dalisay na pag-iisip at mga ambisyon, subalit kayo ay naging katangi-tangi dahil ibinibigay ninyo ang hindi karaniwan upang magampanan ninyo ang inyong mga responsibilidad at tungkulin. Bukod sa pansariling mithiin, ginagamit ninyo ang inyong mga talento at abilidad para maka-ambag sa kabuuang pag-unlad ng ating lipunan,” the governor said.

Other awardees include Edelisa Jean S. Mendoza and Margaret Gretel C. Mañalac for Gintong Kabataan sa Kagalingang Pang-akademya at Agham for Secondary and College level respectively; Daniel Padilla (Pagganap), Roijin G. Suarez (Musika), FCPC Baliktanaw (Sayaw) and Raymond Vincent P. Sityar (Fashion Design) for Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Sining at Kultura; and Paul Gerard A. Saret for Gintong Kabataang Entreprenyur.

Also, Carl Angelo H. Espiritu (Indibidwal) and Guiguinto Bikers (Grupo) were bestowed with Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Paglilingkod sa Pamayanan; while Michael Joseph S. Diño and Glen Andrew D. De Vera (Professional Worker) and Renz Aldrin Paul B. Mangalile (Skilled Worker) were given the Gintong Kabataang Manggagawa Award.

Moreover, James Darrel A. Orduña and Normel Benigno R. De Jesus (Indibidwal) and the Fortunato F. Halili National High School Women’s Junior Softball Team and San Miguel National High School Team (Grupo) were recognized as the Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Isports.

In addition, Patrick S. Dela Cruz was honored as Gintong Kabataang SK Chairperson; Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Guiguinto was picked as the Gintong Kabataang SK Council; and Arnie D. Reyes was the Gintong Kabataang Bayani Posthumous Awardee.

Special Citations were also given to Joshua F. Flores, the twins Jose Gabriel and Jose Raphael Delos Santos, and to the Bulacan Men’s Softball Team.

Meanwhile, recognitions for the Most Supportive Mayors were handed over to Mayors Jessie de Jesus of Calumpit, Ma. Rosario Montejo of Pulilan, Ferdinand Estrella of Baliwag, Eleanor Villanueva-Tugna of Bocaue, Ambrosio Cruz, Jr. of Guiguinto, Anastacia Vistan of Plaridel, Paula Carla Galvez-Tan of San Ildefonso, Alfredo Germar of Norzagaray, Ricardo Silvestre of Marilao, Russel Pleyto of Santa Maria, and Arthur Robes of the City of San Jose del Monte.

Representing his co-awardees, Saret thanked the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Fernando, the Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Service Office headed by Elizabeth Alonzo and the Selection Committee with their Chairman Rev. Fr. Dennis Espejo for the recognition given to them.

“Labis po ang kaligayahan na idinulot ninyo sa amin ngayon, hindi dahil sa pansariling karangalan na aming tinanggap bilang Gintong Kabataan kung hindi dahil binigyan ninyo ng kahulugan ang aming pagpupursige at pagsasakripisyo para sa ating bayan, mga kababayan at para sa ating Diyos,” Saret said.
