Bulakenyos to enjoy a feast of different “Flavors of Bulacan”

CITY OF MALOLOS – Food enthusiasts as well as food bloggers are invited to taste the different dishes of the province in “Flavors of Bulacan: The Bulacan Food Festival” on September 11, 2018 at 8 am to be held at the Eco-Commercial Complex in this city.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that as part of the activities in the Singkaban Festival 2018 with the theme “Pamanang Kalinangan ng Nakaraan, Gabay sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan”, the event aims to promote Bulakenyo recipes to the younger generation and to gauge the participants’ ability in cooking one recipe using different methods.

“Marami pong pagkain na may tatak Bulacan ang bantog hindi lamang sa ating lalawigan ngunit maging sa ibang panig ng bansa dahil sa masarap na lasa at kakaibang taguri o kaya’y paggawa nito at ang mga lutuing ito ay marapat lamang na ipamana natin sa mga susunod na henerasyon upang tuluy-tuloy na mapreserba at matikman pa ng mga susunod na salinlahi,” Alvarado said.

The activity will have a cooking competition, which will be composed of three students per group coming from the 21 municipalities and three cities of the province. Winners will receive P20,000 for the first place, P15,000 for the second place and P10,000 for the third place.

Moreover, Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz, head of the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office shared that different food personalities will also have a cooking demonstration that will feature the best dishes and recipes of Bulacan to be tasted by all the invitees.

Also expected to grace the event are the members of the Association of Tourism Officers on Bulacan.
