Bulakenyo dancers promote local festivals on Indakan sa Kalye

CITY OF MALOLOS- Roads of this city will be filled with dancers from different cities and towns of Bulacan gracefully representing their local festivals through concepts, choreography, costumes and props as they compete with each other on Indakan sa Kalye on September 14, 2019.

At 1 pm, representative of each municipalities with up to 60 members will perform to the tune of “Makulay na Bulakenyo” from Barasoain Church to the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Meanwhile, the showdown of local festivals that will feature their history, arts, culture, tradition and custom concentrated in a seven-minute music will start upon the arrival of the participants at the gym.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that the Singkaban Festival, being the mother of all the fiestas in the province, will surely capture the attention of the local and foreign tourists alike.

“Makulay, masining, at punong puno ng buhay. Ganyan natin mailalarawan ang mga kapistahan sa ating lalawigan. Sa pamamagitan ng gawaing ito, maipamamalas natin sa buong mundo ang galing, nakamamanghang talento at husay sa pagsayaw ng mga Bulakenyo,” the governor said.

Each winner will take home a trophy and P100,000 cash price for the first place, P70,000 for second place, P40,000 for the third place and three P10,000 for the consolation prizes.

Also, Best in Street Dancing and Best in Costume will receive trophy and P5,000 cash prize each.

Indakan sa Kalye is part of the weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival anchored on the theme “Singkaban Festival 2019: Sining at Kalinangang Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Filipino”.

It is a program of the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office.
