Bulacan’s walk for a cause continues

CITY OF MALOLOS – After the successful walks in the past years, the annual “Hakbang para sa Kabataan” is all set once again to not only raise funds but to also entertain and give surprises to the youth come September 11, 2019.

The said activity, which is a part of the annual celebration of Singkaban Festival, will be divided into two groups that will start from Malolos Sports and Convention Center and at Barasoain Church here at 6:30 am and will meet at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium at 8:00 am.

Undersecretary Ryan R. Enriquez, Chairman and CEO of the National Youth Commission, will attend the event as the guest speaker.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that the activity encourages empathy from the participants thus teaching them to be compassionate and helpful at a young age.

“Bata pa lang, gusto na nating ituro sa kanila na pwede silang makatulong sa kapwa nila kahit sa maliit na paraan, kapag nagsama-sama, lumalaki ang epekto. At sa iba kahit hindi kabataan, it’s never too late to help. You can always choose to start giving,” Fernando said.

According to the Provincial Youth Sports and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO), there will be surprise guests that will entertain the audience apart from raffle prizes of up to P50,000.

Also expected to join the event are Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Cong. Jose Antonio R. Sy-Alvarado, Board Member Robert John Myron Nicolas, Pag-asa Youth Association-Bulacan President Roel Abraham, and Bulacan Sports Council Foundation, Inc. President Iluminada V. Estinos.
