Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the general assembly aims to increase the awareness of the public about solo parent programs and to acknowledge outstanding single parents that strengthen his/her families’ foundation with their own parenting techniques.

They must be provided with necessary assistance,” Alvarado said.

According to PSWDO Head Rowena Tiongson, the winners of Natatanging Solo Parent 2014 must be a member of Solo Parent Association in their community; have more than three children; finished college degree within the time span of being a solo parent and an active member of their community.

Winners will receive a plaque of recognition and cash incentives worth P10,000 for the first place, P7,000 for the second place and P5,000 for the third place.

Tiongson also added that PSWDO will discuss the Solo Parent Accomplishment Report for 2014 and guarantees that they will continue to implement different programs to support solo parents and to help them cope with numerous challenges of solo parenting.

Also part of the event is the awarding of certificate to the towns and cities of the province that showed dynamic participation in the Malunggay Tree Planting Program of the Confederation of Solo Parents of Bulacan.
