Bulacan Rescue wins in the Regional Rescue Olympics 2018

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bulacan Rescue of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office was hailed champions in the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Battle of the Brains and Incident Command System during the Regional Rescue Olympics held last July 4-6, 2018 in Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
Bulacan Rescue trumped other five provinces including Pampanga, Tarlac, Aurora, Bataan, and Nueva Ecija in the Battle of the Brains and also in ICS wherein they teamed up with the One Bulacan Team consisting of C/MDRRMOs of the Cities of Malolos and Meycauayan and the towns of Pulilan, Marilao, and Santa Maria.
Also, the Bulacan Rescue with Pulilan and Marilao Rescue Teams landed in second place in Water, Search and Rescue (WASAR) as well as in Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) with Santa Maria Rescue Team while Meycauayan 911 won second place in the Mass Casualty Incident event.
Overall, the Bulacan Rescue delegation bagged the second place and received a trophy.
PDRRMO Head Felicisima Mungcal said that aside from these awards, the Bulacan Rescue also won as second runner up in the recently concluded UNTV Rescue Summit 2018 held at Quezon City Memorial Circle, Quezon City wherein they brought home P1 million cash prize.
Further, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado congratulated the Bulacan Rescue and the PDRRMO for consistently making Bulacan proud due to their excellence and skills in rescue operations.
And to further enhance the knowledge and skills of Bulacan rescue teams about ICS, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the PDRRMO in partnership with the Office of the Civil Defense Region 3 conducted a three-day Basic Incident Command System Course for the members of the PDRRMC and technical working group in Widus Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga recently.
