CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado have entered a Memorandum of Agreement with Philippine Red Cross in purchasing a total of 1,428 swab testing kits last Tuesday worth P5 million to be used for mass testing of suspect, probable and medical front liners in the province.

According to Incident Commander and Provincial Health Office-Public Health Head Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, the province has initially distributed swab testing kits from the Department of Health (DOH), which were already distributed to different government and private hospitals as well as LGUs from the Municipal Health Office (MHO).
The mass testing will be held on the designated COVID-19 facilities from the LGUs of the cities and towns with confirmed cases and the results will take 48 hours to determine whether the patient is negative or positive from the virus.

Meanwhile, Fernando hopes that the additional swab testing kits available in Bulacan will help minimize and control the spread of the virus in the province.

As of 4pm today, the Bulacan Provincial Health Office-Public Health Surveillance Team has reported 128 confirmed positive cases, 40 recoveries, 26 deaths with 962 active suspect and 133 probable cases.
