CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan joined the country in celebrating the National Arts Month as the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts Culture and Tourism Office launched the celebration with the theme “Kislap ng Sining sa Bulacan” during the Monday Flag Ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city wherein a number of performances showcased the Bulakenyo talents.
To formally open the arts month, Sining Bulakenyo wowed everyone in a performance dubbed as “Ani ng Sining, Alab ng Sining” where the PGB officials took part in reciting and dancing as a glimpse to the past and acknowledged some Bulakenyo artists who excelled in their field and gave honor to the province.
Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando in behalf of Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encouraged everyone to help preserve the arts and appreciate their God-given talents.
“Appreciate. Ito ang pinakamabisang paraan upang mapangalagaan at mapreserba ang ating sining. Mahalin natin ang sariling atin at hayaang mahalin din ito ng mga susunod na henerasyon,” Fernando said.
Moreover, Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz invited the Bulakenyos to witness and participate in the lined up activities including Kulturang Handog ng FCCP para sa Kabataan ng Bulacan Cultural Showcase on February 22, 2018,1pm at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center; Konsierto ng Musikerong Bulakenyo at Parangal sa Kislap ng Sining and Launching of the Sineliksik Bulacan Docu Fest 2018 on February 27, 2018, 3 pm at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium and; BulacArt 7 Art Exhibitions on February 28, 2018 at 1 pm at the Bulacan State University.
On the other hand, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office announced the awards the province have received in the Search for Best Implementing Schools in the Brigada Eskwela 2017.
The awards include being the National and Regional Champion in the Mega School Category in the Search for Best Implementing Schools of Prenza Elementary School, Marilao; the Patubig Elementary School, Marilao won second place in the National Level and champion in the Regional Level for the Jingle Making Contest; and Bryan Amiel De Jesus, senior education program specialist for being the recipient of the Leadership Award in the National Level for the Brigada Eskwela Division Coordinator Category.
The Provincial Cooperative Development Council of Bulacan and Micro and Small Entrepreneurs Association of Bulacan also took their oath of office during the program.
