Bulacan gov underscores the responsibility of the government to take care of its people

CITY OF MALOLOS – “Responsibilidad po ng ating pamahalaan, nating lahat, hindi lamang sa ating kabataan kundi sa Panginoon, na alagaan ang mga mamamayan lalo na ang ating mga kabataan mula sa sinapupunan. Kaya nga po ang lalawigan ng Bulacan at sa pamamagitan ng ating sama-samang pagkilos, ganun na lamang ang pagbibigay natin ng prayoridad sa nutrisyon ng ating kabataan.”

This was the message of Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado in front of thousands of Bulakenyos who witnessed the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance Awarding Ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city coinciding the Provincial Child Development Workers Assembly, Wednesday afternoon.

He added that good deeds should not just be a symbol of the past but instead serve as an inspiration to further improve the quality of service and love for the youth who are considered hopes of the nation.

Among the towns and cities that received Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance from the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) based on the 2016 results of the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (SCFLGA) were the towns of Calumpit, Hagonoy, Pulilan, Balagtas, Baliwag, Bocaue, Bustos, Guiguinto, Plaridel, Angat, Doña Remedios Trinidad, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Marilao and Santa Maria and City of Meycauayan. They all received Certificates of Conferment.

The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in partnership with Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) also recognized the said awardees and gave plaques of recognition for their invaluable contribution in promoting child rights to survival, development, protection and participation.

Meanwhile, all the municipalities in Bulacan received certificates of participation wherein more than 800 of the Child Development Workers underwent training on Early Child Care and Development in Emergencies headed by PSWDO, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Save the Children Philippines last May 2017.

Also, six members of the Provincial Federation of the Welfare of Children namely Helen Celis of the City of San Jose Del Monte, Crispin Farola of Paombong, Lauro Hilario of Plaridel, Maritez Deang of Marilao, Eugenia Mata of San Miguel and Cielito Sison of San Ildefonso received certificate of recognition for their support in promoting the welfare of the children.
