Bulacan encourages voluntary blood donation

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encourages Bulakenyos to engage more in voluntary blood donation.

In line with the theme of Blood Donor Month this July “Thank you for Saving my Life”, Alvarado emphasized that the world is celebrating the renewed and lengthened lives of people because of persons who donated their blood to help others.

Alvarado said that from Rolex Replica five blood galloners awardee in 2003, there are now more than a hundred of them, an attestation that more and more Bulakenyos are willing to take part in extending the lives of Bulakenyos in need.

According to the Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO), the province needs 91 blood units everyday. This is based on the standard requirements of the Department of Health’s computation of one percent of the three million population of the province to ensure that there is enough and safe blood for Bulakenyos.

The PPHO detailed some cases wherein blood is needed such as in cancer patient treatments, premature babies, children who will undergo heart operations; anemic patients; and people who will go through transplant, trauma and open-heart surgery who also need platelet transfusions.

From January to June this year, the Bulacan Provincial Blood Center has a total blood collection of 9,181 units wherein 7,425 Bulakenyos were served.

The Bulacan Blood Council was established in 1999 and is tasked to focus on the Replica Watches UK program policies. In 2003 the province started awarding the blood galloners or donors who have donated more than nine units of blood to help extend a life.

In 2004, the Blood Center started operating 24/7.
