Bulacan commemorates 123rd anniversary of Philippine Republic
CITY OF MALOLOS – In celebrating one of the most notable events in the Province of Bulacan, Governor Daniel R. Fernando led a simple program to commemorate the 123rd Anniversary of The First Philippine Republic held at the historic grounds of Barasoain Church here this morning.
With the theme “Unang Republikang Pilipino: Sandigan ng Nagbabagong Panahon”, Fernando underscored the essence of celebrating the Republic Day and the role that the Province of Bulacan portrayed in obtaining national redemption.
Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Representative Rosario V. Sapitan, City of Malolos Mayor Gilbert T. Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Noel G. Pineda, PCol. Rommel J. Ochave of PNP Bulacan and Rev. Fr. Domingo Salonga also graced the program to witness the wreath laying ceremony in front of the monument of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo.
