CITY OF MALOLOS- Anchored on the theme, “The Bible is the Foundation of Righteous Leadership and Living”, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Region III Assistant Regional Election Director Atty. Elmo T. Duque, the guest speaker, and Bishop Bert Chan led the Bible Week celebration pursuant to Proclamation No. 124, s 2017, Declaring the Month of January of every year as National Bible Month culminating in the last week thereof as National Bible Week.
Alvarado said that coincided with the weekly Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city, the word of God, which is the most powerful and the most important chronicle written will be given prominence.
“Hindi pwedeng bawasan, dagdagan, hindi nagkakamali, walang pasubali, ang mga utos at pangako ay hindi nasisira dahil galing sa ating pinakamataas na Maestro,” the governor said.
Also, aside from sharing the bible verses Proverbs 29:2 and Mark 10:42-44, he underscored that serving people is like serving God.
In his message, Duque shared the importance and meaning of the bible to people’s lives. He said it was authored by God and His Words serve as a guide to people in order to have an organized and progressive life.
“Ang Banal na Kasulatan ‘pag binasa po natin, nababasa natin ang kaisipan ng Diyos, lahat po ng gusto ng Diyos na mensahe para sa tao ay nilalaman ng banal na bibliya,” Duque said.
Further, the guest speaker said that the Bible is not just an ordinary thing. It should be given importance and must be read daily at put into practice.
“Kung ang buhay po natin bilang indibidwal at naglilingkod sa gobyerno, may katungkulan sa gobyerno, isunod natin sa eternal word of God, pagpapalain po tayo ng Panginoong Diyos,” Duque said.
