Bulakenyos to get free medical services from US doctors

CITY OF MALOLOS — A five-day free surgical and medical mission will be held on January 26 to 30, 2015 by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan at the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) and Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said around 16 doctors that include 10 family physicians specializing in internal medicine, cardiology, obstetric, urology, ophthalmology among others and six pediatricians will provide free medical and surgical care to Bulakenyos.

“I am very grateful to the unwavering commitment of the said medical mission team in giving quality health care to our fellow Bulakenyos”, the governor added.

A short program will take place on January 25 to welcome the medical mission delegates.

As of today, the BMC and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office have pre-screened 87 patients to undergo major operations and 47 patients for minor operations.

Last year, 80 patients were treated for major operations and 127 for minor operations.

Meanwhile, the Bulakenyos are happy and grateful to be the beneficiaries of the said medical mission for the third time.
