Pandawan 2016 highlights artistic works in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bulacan Center of Studies (BCS) in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Bulacan has once again held the 3rd Pandawan which featured the artistic works and invaluable contributions of a Bulakenyo artist, Jose Rey Munsayac, at Bulacan State University in this city, recently.

The said celebration highlighted the literary works of Munsayac and the creative reading of his novels including the Tinipanan ng Gitara that were interpreted by the students who participated in the event.

According to Edilberto Larin, BCS Director, the contributions of Munsayac as a Bulakenyo clearly manifested in his writings and literary pieces that exhibited the extraordinary talents of Bulakenyos in the field of creative writing.

“Si Sir Joey, hindi lang siya manunulat, isa rin siyang environment advocate na tumutulong sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan sa pagprotekta sa kapaligiran. Siya ang manunulat na isang inspirasyon sa mga kabataan,” Larin said.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the PGB has always been supportive to Bulakenyo artists who have contributed in the development of arts and culture of the province as well as giving importance to their works that serve as inspirations to their fellow Bulakenyos.

The event also highlighted the artistic song and dance presentations of students from Bulacan State University and the inspiring messages of the university writers and professors.

Munsayac is currently the executive director of the Katagalugan Studies Center, an institution that aims to cultivate and promote arts and culture in the province and conducts series of programs for environment protection and conservation.
