CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan-based media practitioners had a personal taste of the exquisite beauty of Doña Remedios Trinidad, the youngest and biggest municipality in Bulacan, during the Media Tour 2017 held yesterday sponsored by the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy- Alvarado.

Media practitioners in the province enjoyed the breath-taking view of parts of Bulacan, Pampanga, Manila and Makati City from the top of Mt. Lumot located at Brgy. Camachin wherein the historical Candle Monument stood as a symbol and remembrance of the many lives lost in a battle against guerillas in 1938.

Also, they explored the clear waters of the Iket River, also in Brgy. Camachin, and experienced the relaxing ambiance at the Caribbean Water Park Resort at Brgy. Pulong Sampaloc.

According to Provincial Information Officer Maricel S. Cruz, the Media Tour aims to promote the eco-tourism sites as well as the best practices of the featured municipalities; uplift the awareness of the Bulakenyos regarding the most unexplored town in the province; encourage them to promote tourism as a major socio-economic activity that could generate employment among Bulakenyos; and spread the benefits of tourism to both the private and public sector.

For his part, Dr. Eliseo Dela Cruz, Provincial Tourism Officer, said that mediamen are one of the province’s partner in promoting the under-explored historical and tourist spots in Bulacan.

“Inaanyayahan ko po kayo na suportahan at tangkilikin ang mga ipinagmamalaki ng ating lalawigan dahil siguradong ang Bulacan, inyong babalik-balikan,” added Dr. Dela Cruz.

Meanwhile, DRT Municipal Tourism Officer Wilhelmina Lucas thanked the Provincial Government for choosing their municipality as this year’s venue of media tour and encouraged the media men to promote not only the tourist spots included in the tour’s itinerary but all of DRT’s attractions.

The Media Tour was made possible through the efforts of the Provincial Public Affairs Office in partnership with the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office.
