Jeepney drivers to enjoy a day of fun and appreciation

CITY OF MALOLOS – Hundreds of Bulacan Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (BFJODA) members will experience a half day of fun and appreciation as the Provincial Government of Bulacan holds “Araw ng Lingkod Lansangan” on September 14, 2017, 1 pm at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

As part of the activities in the Singkaban Festival 2017 with the theme “Singkaban Festival 2017: Bulacan, babalik-balikan!”, the said event was organized to strengthen their association and to inspire them to continue their services in providing safe public transportation for the commuters.

Recognizing the important role of jeepney drivers in the daily lives of the public, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado underscores that is just right to give time to relax and to have fun even just for a short while.

“Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, maipapakita natin sa ating mga kalalawigang tsuper na sila ay mahalaga at kinikilala natin ang kanilang kontribusyon bilang mga gabay upang ligtas na makarating sa ating mga destinasyon. Hindi biro ang kanilang tungkulin ngunit ito ay ginagampanan nila ng buong husay at ingat kung kaya naman dapat lang na sila ay ating bigyan ng kasiyahan,” the governor said.

Moreover, to further accentuate the fun of the event, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Administrator’s Office organized a singing contest for the attendees dubbed as “JODA Got Talent” wherein the winners for the first, second and third places will receive P10,000, P7,000, and P4,000 respectively while the non-winners will receive a consolation prize worth P1,000 each.

Aside from that, all the attendees will receive grocery items from the PGB and will have a chance to win raffle prizes including a flat screen television, washing machine, 20 sacks of rice, 4 electric fans, water dispenser, 5 units of cellphone, 2 gas stoves, 4 rice cookers, 4 flat irons and 3 kettles.
