9,000 Bulakenyo youths walk for a cause

CITY OF MALOLOS – More or less 9,000 Bulakenyo youths are expected to flock in this city to walk and join in this year’s “Hakbang para sa Kabataan”, a walk for a cause that aims to raise funds for sports development and youth association’s livelihood programs, leadership trainings and team buildings.

Walking from two separate starting points, one from Barasoain Church and the other from Santisima Trinidad Elementary School and both ending at Tanghalan ng Sining at Kultura, Mini Forest in this city, the said walk for a cause will be held on September 12, 2017 at 7 am.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, the funds that will be generated will benefit the out-of-school youth and Bulakenyo athletes.

He added that even in their young age, the youth have the capability to help others even in their own simple ways.

“Malaki ang impluwensiya ng kabataan sa kanyang kapwa kabataan kaya naman hindi makapagtatakang kabataan din ang makatutulong at aalalay sa kanyang kapwa. Layunin natin na sa pamamagitan ng mga programa na tulad nito, maitaas natin ang antas ng kamalayan ng ating mga kabataan sa pagtulong sa kapwa,” Alvarado said.

A surprise guest is set to entertain the participants including high school and college students and teachers from schools around the City of Malolos, out-of-school youths and government employees.

Meanwhile, raffle draw winners will bring home P50,000, P30,000, P20,000 and five winners of P5,000.

Hakbang para sa Kabataan is one of the programs included in the month-long celebration of Singkaban Festival with this year’s theme “Singkaban Festival 2017: Bulacan, babalik-balikan” organized by the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Office (PYSEDO) in coordination with the Bulacan Sports Council.
