Bulakenyos unite in a day of prayer, plead for peace and order in Marawi City

CITY OF MALOLOS – Recognizing the power of prayers, the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando along with other religious groups and hundreds of Bulakenyos will unite in the 6th Bulacan Day of Prayer on July 26, 2017, 2 pm at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city to pray for peace and order in the country especially in Marawi City.

The provincial governor believes that there is nothing more powerful than a unified nation in prayer and that with God’s intervention, every vision could be turned into reality.

”Ang lahat ng ating pagsusumikap ay mawawalan ng saysay kung hindi natin hihingin ang pamamagitan ng ating Panginoon. Anuman ang relihiyon na ating kinabibilangan, mayroon tayong iisang Diyos na makaririnig sa ating mga dalangin,” Alvarado said.

The ecumenical prayer will be led by different religious groups such as Catholic, Aglipayan Church, Methodist/Protestant, Bulacan Muslim Affairs Consultative Council (BMACC), Iglesia Ni Cristo and other Christian groups while the harmony prayer will be led by the Four Pillars of Bulacan which is composed of Interfaith, Alliance for Values Formation in Bulacan, Baptist and Cadence.

Also, the event will highlight the singing of Lord, Heal our Land which is the theme song of the Day of Prayer.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto C. Abella will grace the event together with other cabinet members including Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana, Department of Justice Secretary Vitaliano N. Aguirre II, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo, Department of Health Secretary Paulyn Jean B. Rosell-Ubial and Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. Lopez.

Likewise, Land Registration Authority Administrator Judge Renato D. Bermejo, Nayong Pilipino Foundation Board of Directors member Patricia Yvette M. Ocampo and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrea D. Domingo confirmed their presence on the event.

Aside from members of the religious groups, local officials and government employees, teachers, students and different sectors are expected to flock the provincial gymnasium to attend the prayer gathering.
