Bulacan intensifies campaign for a safe observance of Fire Prevention Month

CITY OF MALOLOS – In an aim to achieve a safe observance of the Fire Prevention Month this March, the Provincial Government of Bulacan lines up activities that will help save lives and properties.

With the theme “Buhay at Ari-arian ay Pahalagahan, Ibayong Pag-iingat sa Sunog ay sa Sariling Pamamahay Simulan”, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that this yearly activities being conducted by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office teaches preparedness and right response in times of emergency like fire.

“Lubusan ang ating isinasagawang pagmumulat ng kaalaman at paghahanda sa bawat Bulakenyo, hindi matataranta ang pamilyang handa at may alam kung ano ang gagawin sa panahon ng kagipitan,” Alvarado said.

As a support to the said observance, a massive information drive in the province has been set wherein leaflets on fire prevention tips will be disseminated as well as Climate Change Handbook. A fire safety inspection at the Capitol building including different offices and hospitals will also be conducted.

Also, the PDRRMO will hold a motorcade in this city on March 1, at 6 am while the Kiddie/Junior Fire Marshal of the 24 municipalities and Catulinan Elementary School, Baliwag, Bulacan will participate in the First Aid and Fire Suppression Orientation on March 2.

There will be a pre-raffle draw for the first quarter of the “Ang Bote Mo Kaligtasan Ko!” project on March 3 at 2 pm at the Capitol Lobby.

Meanwhile, coinciding the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on March 6 at 8:00 am is the launching of the Fire Prevention Month at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium wherein PDRRMO will distribute rescue tools to rescue team and individual winners of the said project.

Also, topics with regard to the said activity will be discussed on the PDRRMO Program in Radyo Bulacan at 10 am by their guests and speaker from the Bureau of Fire Protection on March 7; Department of Education on March 14; Save the Children on Mach 21; and PDRRMO on March 28.

On March 10, a Physical Fitness Program at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium will be launched at 8 am.

However, on March 17, 8 am at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, an orientation on Hazardous Materials Awareness for the 24 municipalities and Bulacan Rescue will be held while Blood Letting Program is scheduled at the PDRRMO Training Room on March 27 at 8:00 am.

A Fire Drill and Collapsed Structure Simulation Exercise for the local government units, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Red Cross are all set on March 28 at the old Provincial Engineer’s Office in Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan and Fire and Earthquake Drill on March 30 at the Capitol Building.
