Bulacan amasses social services recognitions

CITY OF MALOLOS- Just in time for the celebration of the Children’s Month this November, Bulacan amasses five social services-related recognitions recently.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recognized Bulacan for being a province with the highest percentage of Day Care Workers (96.6%) and Day Care Centers (94.12%) in Central Luzon for the first quarter of 2019.

Also, the DSWD acknowledged the Provincial Government of Bulacan for being an outstanding partner in the goal of empowering and protecting the disadvantaged, and improving the quality of life of the marginalized through the implementation of the strategies, programs, projects and activities of the Department.

Furthermore, they honored the efforts of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for the exceptional completion of the 2019 Service Delivery Assessment and achieving the rating of Improved Service Delivery (Level 3); for having crafted a Manual of Operations as guidance for the correct and efficient delivery of social services to their clients; and for their selfless contributions toward the successful implementation of Food for Work project.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando thanked the DSWD for the recognitions and said that it will make the province further strive for the greater good of its constituents.

“Ang mga ganitong klase ng pagkilala ang lalong nagpapasidhi sa apoy sa ating puso upang palawakin ang tulong na naibibigay sa ating mga mamamayan. Bata man o matanda, basta nangangailangan, narito ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan upang umagapay,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, in connection with the celebration of this year’s Children’s Month anchored on the theme “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, 23 out of 24 Bulacan municipalities and cities are set to receive the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance award on November 12, 2019, 1pm at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

The celebration of the Children’s Month is in accordance to Republic Act No. 10661 or the “National Children’s Month Act” that seeks to instill the significance of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly in the Filipino consciousness.
